We went to Louisville last weekend with the kids to show pigs. We had a great weekend. Alex was 3rd in her class and Cameron was 8th. We were very happy overall. I think Warren Beeler summed up our weekend very well. He told Alex, “Your pig was good enough to win, but you weren’t lucky enough.” I have to agree with him. There is just a very small difference between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. For me, I believe many times that difference is Luck.
Polly’s Mom met us at Louisville and she had a big time as well. She got to meet fellow HSC ambassador, Dave Guyer-she told him that he needs to post some pictures on his blogs! I have to be careful what I say about her as she has found the internet to be very informative and keeps an eye my blog.
The Cajuns were up to show at Louisville, and in their typical fashion they fed us well and brought their 42” flat screen TV to watch the New Orleans Saints play. We had the best boudin (Cajun sausage) ever! I wish they would come to all of the hog shows.
Our county is celebrating its 200th year, and our barn was one of 20 chosen to display a historic designation. They approached us wanting to place a painted quilt to mark our barn’s historic past. Cameron selected the design and colors and we think he did a pretty good job!

I am headed to Duncan, Oklahoma on Wednesday for the Fall Classic. I will be helping the Good Doctor, Kevin Burgoon, at the HSC booth. My Cajun friends are going too, and I am planning on eating lunch with them. Stop by and see us at the booth!
