Trying to catch up and get back in the groove of blogging!! Jan 2010 started and here it is already Feb. It’s been busy with shows, clinics and events as usual and that’s a good thing… In January I did a clinic in Creston, Iowa (-16 degrees ) and we had a great time… Ky went with me and we also got to visit my mom who lives in Chariton. Always good to see her. Went to Guyer’s Sale and did a demo. They sure know how to put a event on! Then we went to Denver. Kyra had Reserve Middleweight Lamb. I was one of the officials in the college judging contest and that was fun observing all the talent that those kids have.
Flew to Conroe, Texas for an Honor Show Chow event, and believe it or not it was colder than Denver! Kent Savage, you are awesome! When he puts one on you know it will be good!! Then I headed back to Denver and did a demo with fellow Ambassadors Bob May and Dave Guyer. I stayed for the Andis Prospect show handing out product and the premium sale. There’s only one Denver!! A lot of good cattle!! Then went to Ft Worth and watched Kyra run barrels – Becky Allan, thanks for coming and watching too. Ky was working there also and he helped fit the Reserve Grand Steer. Congratulations to Jay, Eric and the Henry’s.
The Purple Circle Magazine did a Jr Spotlight on Ky in the Feb. issue and we appreciate them doing that!! Just got back from doing a clinic in Seneca, Ilinois. It was a great clinic and have really enjoyed going there the past years. If you are ever there, go to Hanks Farm and eat a great steak!!
We’ve had a winter this time in Oklahoma and am kinda ready for spring. Been calving heifers and so far so good. All the county fairs and springs shows are firing up here and everyone is getting ready for them so that also has us busy. I am doing a LIVE CHAT on Steer Planet Wednesday Feb 24 at 8:00 pm Central. This is the first time they are doing this so hopefully it will go well!
Also we are excited about our new website that is being built by Ranchhouse Designs and hopefully that will be up and running SOON! Our new domain is kirkstierwalt.com. Talk to you soon and good luck at the shows!!
PS ……..I sent a few pictures – a family photo that was taken after church (and ended up being our Christmas card), and a ring shot of Kyra and her lamb that I liked from Denver. Thanks for visiting the HSC Website!!!
