Hi everyone!! Been really busy and got behind on my blogging!! This summer has flew by huh?? Looking back, I was home 3 days in June, 7 days in July, and was gone every weekend in August! It’s all good too!!
Ky started college and it’s sure different not having him around, but he really enjoys college and judging. He just got a walking cast on and has to wear that for 2 months. Gonna be a 6 month ordeal after all is said and done.
Kyra has been busy barrel racing and getting ready for the state fairs. Kyra is home schooling so Juli has been busy getting that organized!
We finally got a big rain and it sure changed everything. We ended up getting 4.5 inches mid-August.
Had some great HSC events in August at Asheville, NC, Paragould, AR, and Houston, TX …everyone did a great job and that makes these events fun!!! This is a great team and I’m glad to be a part of it. I now have a month off and I’ve been swamped around here…. all the fall fairs are starting down here so been doing alot of hoof trimming. We have weaned our AI calves and we have the best set we’ve had due to the fact was we had a lot of bull calves this time… We will start breaking and getting those ready for people to look at. Also we have our first weekly barrel race at the arena starting tonight. The hard part is getting it ready… after that it gets easier. We have 2 state fairs to prepare for now. The first one in OKC is in 2 weeks, and then 2 weeks later is one in Tulsa. Better wrap up and talk to you soon!! Good luck at the shows!!

It’s HOT down here!!! We’ve seen 112 degrees twice and it’s been in the 103 range for a week. Hopefully it’ll be better by weekend.
Been traveling a lot still. Ky and I headed out to the Hereford Jr Nationals in Tulsa, OK. and did a demo with Dave Allan. Good crowd!! I judged the team fitting contest and headed to Des Moines to do a demo at the Gelbvieh Jr Nationals. Ky and I judged the team fitting contest. We had fun! We had dinner with my mom afterwards. Always good to see her!
We picked up Rambo in Nebraska. Then headed to Listowel, Ontario, Canada for a clinic over the weekend. Thanks to RK Supply for a super event. Then flew home and watched Kyra run barrels at the IFYRA in Shawnee.
Now I’m on a airplane headed to Sacramento to the Charlois Jr Nationals and then to Oakley, Kansas Thursday for a seminar. Gonna get a few day break after that!!! Have a good summer! Catch you later!!

Hi Gang!! I’ve been busy with travel lately. I did a clinic in Seminole, Texas and Ky went with me. Thanks to the Long family! We had a good time and a good group. We went bowling and a lady that had only bowled once before did better that me! Shows how good I am!! Ha!
We also did a clinic in Elk City, Ok. There was people from Texas, Okla., and New Mexico. It was a fun time . It was hot, but we got through it and did most the work to the cattle in the mornings and rinsed them a lot. We do two clinics in the summer in Oklahoma. The next one is at Elk City, Ok July 28-30.
KYRA ran at rodeos over the 4th. She placed 8th at Amarillo,Tx. and hit a barrel at Canadian, Tx. to place 2nd. I don’t get to see her run sometimes with clinic travel, so if I’m around I like to go see her compete. Ky went to a wedding in Durango, Co with Casey Hilmes. He said it was really beautiful there. We still need rain badly here. I’m headed out to Jr Nationals and Canada. Talk to you then !!!

Well a lot to write about this time. Happy Father’s Day to everyone. I just got back from a clinic in Riverton, Wy. Thanks to Brian and Marti Warner. We’ve been going there for 5 years. Great people!!
Then I was off to a favorite of mine, the Honor Show Chow VIP at the home office in Gray Summit, Mo. What an event it was with all the ambassadors and HSC staff. The weather was challenging at times, but ended up being an awesome event. There were ag leaders and educators visiting from across the USA. I think it was the best one yet!!
My family is enjoying the summer. Just finished breeding cows! KYRA and Juli are busy with barrel racing. Ky is coping and getting around better. He’s getting faster on crutches! Stitches are out, staples come out in a week. We’ll know more Thursday after he sees the doctor. Hopefully he’ll get a cast for support.
I’m at a clinic for ag Ed and extension leaders at the GA. University until Wednesday. I’m getting to hang out with Jary Douglas then to Seminole, Texas for a clinic from Thurs – Saturday.
PS rumor has it Mike Harbour is gonna start blogging, so be on the lookout. How bout them cowboy,s Mark Johnson??!!! Talk to you next week!

It was really pretty and green with all the rain there. Also thanks to HSC Kevin Lavelle for coming and doing a nutrition PowerPoint. Thanks to the Teague family for coming and getting me in
their private plane and taking me to Ft. Morgan.
We trimmed feet on all the show cattle Tuesday. I am using their cattle for a two-day clinic starting today in Sterling, CO. Thanks to Mick Livingston and Marlin Eisenach and staff for organizing this event.
I’m going back to Riverton, Wy tomorrow to start a clinic with Brian and Marti Warner through Saturday. I’ll fly home Sunday, and then off to Gray Summit, MO on Monday to the HSC VIP. Well, there’s a lot going on this week! To start things, Ky broke his leg in 2 places. Nine screws and a plate between the the knee and ankle. His summer is planned, crutches for 2 months and rehab for 2 more months. Looks like it’ll be healed up just before Tulsa State Fair.
Kyra and Ky’s birthday is June 1. Ky is 19 and Kyra is 16. Just got back from doing a clinic at Utah State. Good scenery, great people, nice facility. Thanks to Jamie, Jessica and Walco for a great clinic!!!! Headed out Thurs. on a 2 week run doing clinics and ending up in Gray Summit for the HSC VIP, one of my favorite events because I get to hang out with all of the other ambassadors. They are a awesome group. We get to do this once a year, and it’s great having us all in one spot. Have a good Summer!!!

Hi everyone!! Ky graduated Friday. We had lots of friends come and the weather was perfect. My Mom came from Iowa and it’s always good to see her. We had an after party at the arena for Ky, Tara and Cinda (2 cousins also graduating). There was 14 total in his class!
They have freshman graduation here and Kyra was in that. Somewhere around 250-300 people. The Darbonne’s from LA cooked Cajun food. The band Pearl Snaps played and we had a mechanical bull also. It was fun and we all had a good time!
Bob and Brock May came also. They probably won the farthest distance award!
I’m headed to Utah to do a clinic in Logan Thursday over the weekend. Talk to you next week!!!

Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day! I’ve been home this week and have been getting a lot of spring clean-up finished. We’re getting the place ready for Ky’s graduation party. It will be good to see friends who are stopping by! My Mom is coming in from Iowa.
We had our Leedey FFA banquet last night. Ky and Kyra recieved their year-end awards. Ky gave his retiring president speech and welcomed the new officers in. We are fortunate to have a good program that does so much for these kids! I think Jay Muret is one of the best Ag Ed leaders in the country. Great event Jay, wife Laurie, and staff!
I’m headed to do a clinic in Kansas this weekend. Ky has prom and Juli and Kyra are headed to open rodeos. Talk to you next week!

Juli and I attended the Oklahoma State FFA Convention. Ky and Kyra were there with the chapter, and Ky received his degree. It was awesome and touches you and warms your heart to see what 4-H and FFA does for theses kids.
