Tristan also showed two of the first goats that were fed the new HSC “Impulse” goat feed. I was really impressed at the early muscle tone and firmness of touch that our goats developed on the feed with very little exercise. This helped him win the county market goat show.
We finished the county stock show and proceeded into what we call “The Majors” This runs from the end of January to Mid March. It’s a time in which we travel to Five different Livestock Shows scattered across Texas. Everyone has high aspirations of a winning season. Some just want to qualify for the premium sale, while others seek higher aspirations. Our biggest moment this show season was at the Houston Livestock Show. Tristan showed a goat that was one of the first wether goats to be fed HSC’s NEW “Impulse” show goat feed. This feed fed undeliverable! The goats looked more expressive in their muscle pattern and fresher in their handle than we have ever had. This proved to be successful, Tristan won the Light Heavy Division in the Market Goat Show at the Houston Livestock Show. There were over 100 in his class and over 300 in his division. I am very pleased with the performance of “Impulse.”
March 26th was the day we held our first Show Goat and Lamb Sale for the new show season. We offered 58 wether goats that had been fed “Impulse” – 25 doe kids and ten Southdown weter lambs. We had our best March sale ever, with goats and lambs going to 13 DIFFERENT STATES. Thanks to all our buyers and good luck with your show animals. Now would be a great time to take the Purina 60 Day Challenge and try the NEW “Impulse” goat feed.
I will be in New Mexico this month at four different locations. Good luck with your feeding program!
