10th Annual Marathon Feed Show Animal Clinic

Saturday, Feb. 13th marked the 10th annual Marathon Feed Show Animal Clinic. The clinic was held at the Van Der Geest indoor arena in Merrill, with over 170 people in attendance.
Once again we acquired excellent assistance from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, headed by Animal Science Professor Dr. Gary Onan. Dr. Onan brought with him excellent animals from their lab farm, as well as three UW-RF students to assist with teaching at the clinic: John Nelson, Kayla Anderson, and Kally Bockenhauer.
This year we also welcomed Bob May, LOL/Purina Cattle Ambassador to share his expertise and experience in and out of the cattle show ring.
The clinic ran from 10:00am to 1:15pm with hands-on fitting, showmanship sessions, a feed and nutrition session, and great door prizes. As always, the clinic was free of charge and allowed everyone involved in beef, sheep and swine fair projects to learn a little more, ask some questions, and meet with friends again before the fair season starts. |
